ST. LOUIS - In the Semifinals of the KCAC Tournament the Spartans took care of business and beat the Warriors of Midland 18-2.

Caroline Karr got the Spartans started as she scored the day's first goal just 33 seconds into the contest.

Natalie Patrick kept the squad going as she buried the next three goals for MBU to make it 4-0 with over nine minutes left in the first quarter.

The next goal came with under a minute left in the first as Mackaylee Miller got her first goal of the game.

Up 5-0 the Spartans kept going as Kiersten Lang, Patrick, and Lydia Cornett all scored in the first five minutes of the second frame.

Cornett and Karr tacked on one more goal each before Midland got on the scoreboard to make it 10-1.

Skyler Morrissey tallied one more goal for the Spartans before halftime to give MBU a 10 goal lead at the break.

The third quarter slowed down in the goals column as Cornett and Patrick scored the Spartans' two goals and the Warriors got one.
Â
Cornett buried a trio of goals for the Spartans in the fourth quarter, and Miller and Karr each got one to give MBU the 18-2 victory in the KCAC Semifinals.

Throughout the contest Cornett tallied 13 points coming off of six goals and seven assists, and picked up six draw controls for MoBap.

Patrick also picked up seven draw controls, scored five goals, and won four ground balls.

Amelia Shaw and the Spartans' defense allowed the Warriors to just two goals while forcing 29 turnovers and going a perfect 10-10 on clear attempts.

The victory puts MBU in the KCAC Championship game on Saturday at 1:00 pm when they take on the Braves of Ottawa at Spartan Field.
