ST. LOUIS — The Spartans return home this Saturday for their home opener against Benedictine College on Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. at Spartan Field. The Missouri Baptist University men's soccer team is back on the pitch after a successful 3-1 road trip on the west coast to begin the season.
Junior Marko Dordevic is off to a hot start this year with six goals and was named NAIA and AMC Offensive Player of the Week just a few days ago.
Sophomore Sergej Misic is second on the team in goals with three and has one assist heading into the home opener.
Senior Jack Ridley leads the team in assists with three after recording a pair in the Spartans' victory over Hope International University last week.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sean Stone has started in net for all four of MBU's matches this year. He enters the weekend with a 1.75 goals against average (GAA) and 17 saves.
Benedictine College: The Spartans will face the Ravens at Spartan Field on Saturday evening following a home football game. The match will be streamed live, and live stats will also be available. Benedictine is 3-1 and 0-1 on the road to start the season, recently defeating Avila University 2-0 at home on Monday.
Kody Argaez and Adem Aroua are players to watch for the Ravens, as they are tied for the team lead in goals with two each. Junior goalkeeper Noah Reuscher has had a strong start to the season, allowing only two goals and posting a 0.74 GAA.
