TOPEKA, Kan. — Missouri Baptist University turned in steady performances at the 2025 NAIA Invitational, with
Alec Forester and
Amber Lymenstull leading the way for the Spartans as individuals.
Men – Invite I (Friday)
The Spartan men placed fifth in the first half of the Invitational with 4,939 pins, finishing behind Mount Mercy University, Saint Xavier University, Indiana Wesleyan University, and SCAD Savannah.
Junior
Alec Forester led MBU with a 1,021 five-game total, highlighted by a 228 in Game 5.
Charlie Hunter followed closely at 1,004, averaging 200.8, while
Lance Starks added an 834 four-game block that included a 252.
Dylan Chastain contributed 747 over four games.
Women – Invite I (Friday)
The Missouri Baptist women earned a fourth-place finish, posting 4,573 pins.
Senior
Amber Lymenstull paced the Spartans with a 973 series, placing eighth individually with games of 191, 211, and 205. Savanah Scheldberg added 945, while
Samantha DeBeaux recorded 903 over five games. Freshman
Kassandra Foss totaled 741 across four games.
Men – Invite II (Saturday/Sunday)
In Saturday's second qualifying session, the Spartan men placed ninth with 4,759 pins, securing another top-10 finish in the 18-team field.
Women – Invite II (Saturday/Sunday)
Missouri Baptist's women posted another strong showing, taking sixth place with 4,557 pins.
Bracket Play
Both Spartan teams advanced into Sunday's match-play bracket.
- The men's varsity group entered as the No. 7 seed and lost a closely contested seven-game series to the fifth-seeded SCAD Savannah. They fell in game seven 225-192.
- The women's varsity team competed as the No. 4 seed in a field highlighted by SCAD Savannah and Mount Mercy. After ending Saturday on a hot streak, the women came out and won the first two games against Ottawa University in the first round of the bracket before falling in the next four consecutively to end the weekend.
