Spartans Seek to Extend Momentum in Upcoming Game

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The Missouri Baptist University women's basketball team will travel to Lamoni, Iowa, to take on the Graceland University Yellowjackets on Saturday, Dec. 6, at noon. 

The Spartans have not faced the Yellowjackets since Nov. 14 of the 2017–18 season, which remains their only matchup in program history against Graceland. 

The Yellowjackets enter the game at 1–8 overall with a 0–3 record in conference play. Their most recent outing resulted in an 81–69 loss to the Grand View University Vikings. GU is led by senior Maxine Ampofo, who has totaled 120 points on the season and averages 13.0 points per game. 

MBU now sits at 2–5 overall and an even .500 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The Spartans are coming off a 61–51 victory over William Woods University. Riley Jansen leads the team in scoring with 102 total points, averaging 14.6 points per game.
