ST. LOUIS — Missouri Baptist University placed three athletes on the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NAIA All-Midwest Region First Team and earned two of the region's major postseason awards, the organization announced this week.

Gabi Jakubowska was voted Midwest Region Player of the Year, while head coach
Claire Ochs was selected Midwest Region Coach of the Year. Jakubowska was joined on the All-Region First Team by
Allana Capella and
Fernanda Perini.
Jakubowska led Missouri Baptist with 544 kills, averaged 4.32 kills per set, and hit .260 while helping the Spartans to a 31-6 record and their 12
th consecutive NAIA National Championship appearance. She additionally added 64 service aces, 1.96 digs per set, and 100 total blocks.
Capella recorded 435 kills with 3.37 kills per set and a .240 hitting percentage. From the service line, the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native sent over 47 aces and pitched in 2.29 digs per set on defense with 52 total blocks.
Perini produced one of the most efficient seasons in the NAIA. The sophomore opposite totaled 273 kills (2.13 K/S) and finished with a .409 attack percentage, ranking among the national leaders in hitting efficiency. She also contributed significantly at the net, adding 167 blocks on the season.
Ochs guided the Spartans to their second conference regular season and tournament championships in as many years at the helm, and the program's first in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. She claimed the Heart Coach of the Year award, her second conference Coach of the Year award in her career, and improved her career record to 58-18.
