KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Following Tyler Deen's American Midwest Conference wrestler of the week, the NAIA has named Deen national wrestler of the week after his decisive win over his opponent from No. 1 Grand View University.

After he trailed 3-1 in the final period, Deen got the takedown in the third to win 4-3 over Tony Mendoza of Grand View University.

Deen's record on the year is 18-6, which includes six technical falls, four major decisions, and a fall.

This award is the first time in program history that a Spartan has won NAIA wrestler of the week.

Deen and the rest of the Spartans enjoy a rest this weekend before competing in the AMC/Sooner Conference Qualifying tournament.
