ST. LOUIS - Missouri Baptist University STUNT participated in the Trevecca Nazarene University STUNT opener on Friday (Feb. 21) and Saturday (Feb. 22), where they defeated (DI) Purdue University, (DI) South Carolina University, and (DI) Northern Kentucky University and recorded two shutouts.
Seasoned STUNT veteran, Sophia Welch, led the team in power ratings across three games.
In game one, the Spartans took down the Boilermakers of Purdue 22-0.
Welch recorded a score of 47. Base, back, tumbler, and flyer, Kylie Lamb followed close behind with a score of 46.
Earning 40 points, senior CiCi Mallqui-Thomas was the third-highest scorer of the match, locking in MBU's win.
Next, the Spartans beat the South Carolina University Gamecocks in similar fashion, recording a final score of 20-1.
Welch led in power ratings again, with an excellent score of 50. Mallqui-Thomas and Lamb repeated impressive performances in this match, earning scores of 47 and 41.
MBU's third game resulted in a 18-0 win over the Northern Kentucky Norse.
Lamb took the lead in power ratings, recording a 38. Welch and Mallqui-Thomas followed with a 35 and a 32.
Joining the top scorers, sophomore London Joy earned a 31.
In Missouri Baptist's last game of the weekend, the Spartans found a fierce foe in their hosts, Trevecca Nazarene.
MBU lost to the Trojans 18-12, but not without positive attitudes and maximum effort from the team.
