DAVENPORT, Iowa — Missouri Baptist University Women's Lacrosse completed their two-day business trip to Iowa with another high-scoring game that led to a 25-4 victory over St. Ambrose University.
Eight different Spartans scored goals, and Lilly Clepper, Lydia Cornett, Mack Miller, and Delaney Pechnik made 12 assists altogether. Cornett can claim eight of those.
Junior defender Jackie Oehler also wanted in on the fun, recording an assist, herself.
Within the first minute of the contest, Olivia Julian won the draw and scored off an assist from Cornett. After this, the Spartans kept their foot on the gas, maintaining possession of the ball for a majority of the game.
Senior Kiersten Lang stepped up next to put a point on the board, aided by another assist from Cornett. Miller scored her first of six goals on the day soon after, assisted by Pechnik.
Then, MBU went on a five goal run:
- Pechnik (assisted by Cornett)
- Lang (assisted by Miller)
- Cornett (assisted by Miller)
- Miller (assisted by Cornett)
- Cornett (unassisted)
St. Ambrose broke the streak with a goal, but this did not deter Missouri Baptist.
Cornett responded with the Spartan's 10th goal of the game soon after.
Junior Skyler Morrissey scored one more with just 15 seconds left in the first quarter, giving the team even more momentum.
MBU kept the Bees scoreless for the entirety of the second period.
Pechnik scored on a woman-up opportunity, and Morrissey, Cornett, and Julian put some points on the board as well.
Going into the second half, Missouri Baptist had the advantage on SAU 16-1.
Again, keeping the Bees scoreless for an entire period, MBU went on another scoring run:

- Marissa Oldham (unassisted)
The fourth quarter followed a similar script, but the Bees found some luck for themselves.
At the beginning of the period, Miller scored two (one off an assist from Cornett).
SAU then went on a three-goal run while the Spartans were handling their woman-down situation, bringing the score to 24-4.
With 34 seconds left in the contest, Oldham snuck in one more off an assist from Clepper, making the final 25-4.
