A Record-Breaking Senior Day: MBU Shuts Out MU 29-0

ST. LOUIS – On Saturday (April 5), the Missouri Baptist University women's lacrosse team shut out Midland University 29-0 in a Heart of America Conference game honoring MBU's senior class.

With this score, Missouri Baptist broke their record for most goals scored and largest goal differential in a game. Senior goalkeeper, Kevynn Bouchard, also recorded her first career shutout with three saves and zero goals allowed. Kiersten Lang, a senior attacker, hit 100 career points as well.

The Spartans played with a lot of energy and selflessness. Senior defender Sophia Zegar fired up the team and crowd by scoring her first career goal just under a minute into the contest.

Delaney Pechnik followed with another goal, assisted by senior attacker Mack Miller.

About a minute later, Lang scored her first of what would be six goals on the day. Her first goal was assisted by senior attacker Lydia Cornett.

Senior midfielder Olivia Julian, Cornett, Lang, and Alexis Taylor each scored a goal within about five minutes of each other.

Sophomore Lillie Cuddeback also scored the first goal of her collegiate career, assisted by Hayley Schnefke. Cuddeback, who has not played in a contest since suffering an injury her freshman year, lit up the stadium.

Hayley Schnefke, a graduate student defender, followed her first career goal as well.

11-0 going into the second quarter, MBU did not slow down offensively. Miller scored first off an assist from Marissa Oldham.
The rest of the goals in the second period were scored in the following order:
