Spartans Battle to Scoreless Draw at Central Methodist

FAYETTE, Mo. – The Missouri Baptist University men's soccer team battled to a scoreless draw against Central Methodist University on Wednesday evening. Both teams created numerous scoring opportunities throughout the match, but strong defensive efforts and steady goalkeeping kept the ball out of the net on both sides.

The Spartans controlled much of the first-half action, outshooting the Eagles 4–3. All four of MBU's attempts were on target, but CMU goalkeeper Niccolo Cabras stood tall in the net, turning away each shot to keep the first half scoreless.

Missouri Baptist and Central Methodist each tallied 12 shots in the match. The Spartans tested the Eagles with eight on target, but CMU's goalkeeper came up with key saves. On the other side, MBU's Sean Stone faced little pressure, as the Eagles struggled to put their opportunities on goal.

The Spartans will continue their road swing on Saturday, Sept. 27, when they travel west to face Park University in a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
