Spartans Travel to No. 23 MidAmerica Nazarene for Week 4 Showdown

OLATHE, Kan. — Missouri Baptist University football (1-2) hits the road Saturday to take on No. 23 MidAmerica Nazarene University (2-1) at 1 p.m. The game will stream live on the Urban Edge Network.

The Matchup

Missouri Baptist and MidAmerica Nazarene will meet for the third time in program history. The Spartans are seeking their first win against the Pioneers, who lead the series 2-0. The teams last met Oct. 26, 2024, with MNU winning 58-21 in St. Louis.

The Pioneers enter the game ranked No. 23 in the NAIA coaches' poll after falling 34-31 on the road to William Penn last week.

Spartans at a Glance

MBU looks to bounce back after a 41-14 home loss to Graceland University in last week's Heart of America Clash of the Week. Through three games, the Spartans are averaging 23.0 points and 349.7 yards of total offense per game.

  • Touchdown chase – RB Lionel Banks has 21 career rushing touchdowns. Two more would tie the program record of 23.

Road Challenge

Saturday marks MBU's second road game of the season and its first trip to Kansas since last November. The Spartans are 2-3 on the road since the start of last season.

"We've got to be ready to go," head coach Jason Burianek said. "We need to get back to being who we are and put on a great show for the Spartan fans who support us every week."

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at ODAC Stadium in Olathe, Kan.
