Two Former MBU Bowlers Inducted Into St. Louis USBC Hall of Fame

ST. LOUIS – Two former Missouri Baptist University bowlers were recently inducted into the St. Louis United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame for Superior Performance. The pair join around 160 athletes to ever be awarded the honor.

Andy Cline, a bowler at MBU during the 2021-22 season, was inducted by Missouri Baptist Bowling Head Coach Don Griffin, who instructed Cline during his stint as a Spartan. Cline joins Griffin in the Hall, as Griffin was inducted 20 years ago for Superior Performance.

Cline has accumulated numerous awards for his dominant play on the lanes. He is a three-time St. Louis USBC Bowler of the Year (2023-2025), two-time League Bowler of the Year (2023, 2024), and was named the Missouri State USBC Bowler of the Year for the 2022/23 bowling season.

He held the highest league average with 250 during the 2017-18 year and has posted averages of over 240 during eight other seasons. Cline has bowled a sanctioned perfect game 77 times. For his excellent play both at Missouri Baptist and beyond, Andy Cline is well-deserving of this honor.

Ashley Cole Blueford, a bowler at MBU during the 2005-06 season, was also inducted into the St. Louis USBC Hall of Fame.

Similar to Cline, Cole Blueford's accolades are expansive. Across her years of playing, she has tallied 14 titles in various events, both from individual and team play. She was named the 2019 St. Louis USBC Female Bowler of the Year for a particularly dominant season.

Consistency has been a major factor in Cole Blueford's success, as her and her team placed in the top ten at the USBC National Women's Open Championship in 2023 and 2024.

Ashley Cole Blueford has been nominated for TNBA Southern Region Hall of Fame in 14 different states, making her induction into the St. Louis USBC Hall of Fame almost inevitable.

The pair of former Missouri Baptist University bowlers highlight the high achievement of Spartan student-athletes and the impact they have on both the University and their sport.
