MBU Dominates on the Road with Pair of Wins

NEW ALBANY, Miss. — Missouri Baptist University men's and women's tennis earned a pair of victories over Blue Mountain on Tuesday.

The Spartan men improved to 10–1 on the season with a dominant 7–0 sweep, while the Missouri Baptist women moved to 5–6 overall with a 5–2 win.

On the men's side, Missouri Baptist set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. Luca Ebenriter and Sebastian Junghanns opened with a 6–4 victory at No. 1, while Ruslan Anurev and Strahinja Radanovic followed with a 6–4 win at No. 2. Omar Farahat and Arkhip Tokmakov completed the sweep with a 6–2 victory at No. 3.

The Spartans carried that momentum into singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets to complete the shutout. Ebenriter led the way with a 6–4, 6–0 win at No. 1, while Radanovic added a 6–2, 6–0 victory at No. 2. Farahat, Anurev, and Tokmakov each posted dominant straight-set wins, and Samuel Sanchez closed out the sweep with a 7–6, 6–1 win at No. 6.

On the women's side, Missouri Baptist secured the doubles point by winning all three courts. Melissa Jangarasheva and Yvonne Shannon edged their opponents, 7–6, at No. 1, while Mariana Azevedo and Lucia Rubio earned a 7–6 victory at No. 2. Jocelynn Carmody and Bissola Lassissi added a 6–1 win at No. 3 to complete the sweep.

The Spartans carried that momentum into singles play, winning four of the six matches to secure the team victory. Shannon earned a 6–1, 6–3 win at No. 2, while Carmody posted a 6–4, 6–0 victory at No. 3. Rubio battled back for a three-set win at No. 4, and Azevedo added a 6–2, 6–2 result at No. 6.

Blue Mountain picked up its two points with wins at No. 1 and No. 5 singles.
