NEW ORLEANS, La. — Missouri Baptist University men's tennis fell to Dillard, 4–1, on Friday.
The loss drops the Spartans to 10-3 on the season, while Dillard secured three singles victories and the doubles point, to claim the team win.
Missouri Baptist was unable to secure the doubles point, falling on courts No. 2 and No. 3. Ruslan Anurev and Strahinja Radanovic dropped a 6–2 decision at No. 2 doubles, while Omar Farahat and Arkhip Tokmakov fell by the same score at the No. 3 position. The No. 1 doubles match featuring Luca Ebenriter and Sebastian Junghanns went unfinished.
In singles play, the Spartans picked up their lone point at the No. 5 spot, where Tokmakov earned a straight-set victory, 6–4, 6–0.
Dillard clinched the match with wins at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 singles. Radanovic fell 7–5, 6–4 at No. 2, while Samuel Sanchez dropped a three-set battle at No. 4. Nicolas Sanchez also went three sets at No. 6 but came up short.
Matches at No. 1 and No. 3 singles were left unfinished at the time the match was decided.
