ST. LOUIS, Mo.— The MBU men's soccer team faced a nationally ranked opponent for the third consecutive game, facing No. 4 MidAmerica Nazarene University (6-1-2, 4-0-1), Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. on Spartan Field.
After a scoreless first half on either side, the No. 4 Pioneers notched three goals late to earn a 3-0 win.

Roosevelt Peters was proud of the initial effort but wished the Spartans had responded better after falling behind.
"For 60 minutes, we were organized. We really struggled today with holding onto the ball and being brave," Peters said. "Disappointed with how we let the game go after they scored. We have fought back in games before."
The Pioneers sustained an aggressive attack throughout the match, ripping 29 shots with 11 on goal. Senior goalkeeper
Sean Stone kept the Spartans in the game with eight saves, including five in the first half, to match his season high.

Eroy Gonsalves also fired shots but were unable to convert.
Coach Peters encourages his team to keep their heads up and eyes forward as they continue to battle in a competitive conference, remembering that the glory belongs to God in both the wins and losses.
Next: MBU men's soccer moves to 3-2-3 (1-2-1) on the season and will pick up on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. to compete against (RV) Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri.
