ST. LOUIS, Mo.— The Missouri Baptist women's soccer team kicked off homecoming games Saturday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. against nationally ranked opponent MidAmerica Nazarene.Â
The Spartans stayed within striking distance during the first half of play, recording four shot attempts in the opening 10 minutes, including strikes from junior
Kyla Munoz, freshman
Gracie Beckemeier and two from sophomore
Gracie Black.

Sofia Wallace defended the goal in her first 90-minute start with the Spartans, holding the No. 8 Pioneers to one goal heading into halftime.
However, the Pioneers mounted a relentless attack after the break, ripping off 21 shots with 13 on goal. Despite seven saves by Wallace, MNU added six more goals as the Spartans struggled to regain control.
Wallace finished with 10 saves on 17 SOG, but the Pioneers held MBU scoreless to secure the 7-0 win.
Next: The Spartans move to 1-4-2 (0-2-2) on the season and will return to action Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Fayette, Mo., where they will battle No. 25 Central Methodist University at 4:30 p.m.
