Thomason arrives at MBU as Offensive Line Coach in August 2023 following a decorated career on the McKendree University OL. A Bearcat for six years, the mainstay at right tackle appeared in 45 games from 2018-22 and started all 45 contests. In his final season at McKendree, Thomason was a Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America Honorable Mention selection, D2Football.com Elite 100 Member, and a Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year Award nominee.
The Mahomet, Ill. native helped the Bearcat offense to 49 TDs and an average of 455 yards and 35.5 points per game in 2022. From his right tackle position, opponents managed just three sacks against Thomason.
A six-time Academic All-GLVC recipient, GLVC Brother James Gaffney Award winner, and 2021-22 GLVC Council of President’s Academic Excellence Award winner, Thomason graduated cum laude from McKendree in May 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and Marketing. In 2022, he completed his Master of Business Administration with cum laude honors. Thomason interned with the McKendree Football staff and has studied under Mike Babcock, Eric Bergman, and Nick Miller, and now New Orleans Saints Tight Ends Coach Clancy Barone.
In his first year at Missouri Baptist, Thomason led the offensive line to block for the best rushing season in program history and lowered the sack total by nine from the previous season.
