Coach Joly has been the head coach of the men's lacrosse program since 2008. In that time Joly holds a coaching record of 104-78 through the 2020 season. 
 
Prior to leading the MBU program in its first year, Coach Joly coached at the high school level, beginning at DeSmet Jesuit High School, followed by Rockbridge High School in Columbia, MO.  
 
Prior to coaching, Joly played four years at DeSmet Jesuit High School. He went on to play at Wittenberg University (NCAA) where he was the third leading scorer as a freshman and later at the University of Missouri (MCLA-GRLC) leading his team in total points in his junior year.
 
In 2009, his second year as Head Coach at MBU, and the team's first year in the Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference, Joly led his team to the conference playoffs, where they lost in the quarterfinals. In 2010, the Spartans were the GRLC runner-ups. In 2011, Missouri Baptist won its first GRLC Championship and represented the conference in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association National Tournament. In 2012, the Spartans were the GRLC runner-ups.
 
In 2010, Coach Joly was honored as the Division II Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference Coach of the Year. Since the start of the program, Joly and his team have produced 35 All-Conference Award recipients, 12  All- American Award recipients, four Academic All-American Award recipients and one Great Rivers Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year. 
 
In 2016, Coach Joly was honored as the Division II Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference Coach of the Year. Through the 2016 season Joly led the team in competing in the MCLA and the inaugural year as an NAIA team. In the 2016 season alone the team produced 13 GRLC All-Conference, one GRLC Offensive Player of the Year, 12 NAIA Independent All-Conference and five NAIA All-Americans.
 
Joly holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from University of Missouri and a Masters in Arts of Counseling from Missouri Baptist.
