Daniel Carney is a native of Liverpool, England. He played locally in Liverpool for many years before coming to the US to play collegiately for Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Okla. With OKWU, Carney made four NAIA National Tournament appearances, with one trip to the elite 8. The Eagles won 2 conference championships and two conference tournament championships. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sports and Recreational Leadership from OKWU in 2015.
After OKWU, Daniel moved to Texas to coach the junior varsity team at Grapevine Faith and Christian School as well as coaching club soccer with U10 boys at Solar Chelsea.
In 2017, Daniel then moved to Kansas to be a graduate assistant at Ottawa University and earned an MBA in Leadership Development. He spent two years with the men’s program and was responsible for recruiting, training, and player development. He also coached U7 boys and U11 girls for Sporting Kaw Valley in the Kansas City area.
In 2019 Daniel made the transition back to club soccer with Albion Hurricanes F.C in Houston, Tx. He coached the '07 and '02 comp ECNL girls' teams, the '04 ECRL girls' team, and the central campus 2010 & 2011 boys' teams.
