The MBU men's basketball team is now 3-5 after splitting its games at the Culver-Stockton Classic in Canton, Mo. this weekend.
The Spartans won Friday's contest against the host Culver-Stockton 76-71. MBU senior guard
Brandon Roberson led all scorers with 25 points. He also dished out 6 assists. Junior forward
Rondu Stevens recorded his first double-double of the season, scoring 21 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard
Jordan Flora rounded out Spartan scorers in double digits, adding 15 points of his own. He shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line.
In Saturday's game, Ashford University (Iowa) defeated the Spartans 91-79. Stevens got his second double-double, leading the Spartans with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Senior guard
Kyle Hubbard scored 17 points, Flora scored 15 points, and senior guard
P.J. Smith scored 11 points for the Spartans. The Spartans shot 39% from the field, while AU shot 50% from the field, hitting 11 from behind the arc.
Missouri Baptist will be back at home on Wednesday, when they host Principia College. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
