WOMEN'S SOCCER GOES 1-1 ON THE WEEK

The MBU women's soccer team went 1-1 in last week's play, as they moved to 2-5 on the season. The Lady Spartans picked up their second win of the season over non-conference opponent Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Thursday.
The Lady Spartans held OWU scoreless to take a 5-0 victory. Junior Abigail Eckstein (Hudson, Ill./Heartland CC) recorded one save to earn the shutout for MBU. Sophomore Amy Kelly (Ireland) scored two goals for the Lady Spartans, as did junior Christina Burton (St. Charles, Mo./SCCC). Junior Jenee' Patton (Jacksonville, Ill./Heartland CC) scored one goal and earned two assists.
 
The Lady Spartans opened American Midwest Conference play with a 2-1 loss to defending AMC Champion McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill. on Saturday.  Senior Taylor Hay (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville H.S.) scored MBU's only goal.
 
MBU will face two more conference opponents this week, as they travel to Harris-Stowe State University on Wednesday and William Woods University on Saturday
