Parkville, Mo.- The Missouri Baptist women's soccer team went on the road to Park University looking to restart their winning streak. The team however was overmatched by Park as they were unable to score losing 5-0.
The Spartans wanted to look past their previous loss to McKendree and get back on the winning track. The team was looking for a fast start, however Park had other plans as they scored first in the 17th minute on a goal by Nori Gedei. The Pirates were able to add another goal in the 20th minute when Shnell Briscoe was able to beat MBU's goalie Samantha Schulze to make it 2-0.
Park went on to add two more goals before halftime. Shnell Briscoe added her second of the day in the 21st minute and Ashley Maxwell added a goal of her own two minutes later to make it 4-0.
In the second half, the Pirates added another in the 56th minute by Cara Lightle to make it a final 5-0. The Spartans seemed unable to get their offense going in the game as they were outshot 24-6. MBU's Samantha Schulze made seven saves and
Melissa Turney led the team in shots with two.
The team's record falls to 2-7 and will look to get a conference victory on the road when they head to Harris-Stowe State University on October 7th at 1:00 p.m.
