Lebanon, Il.- After being unable to score the past two games the Missouri Baptist men's soccer team were looking for a fast start against McKendree University. The Bearcats got their offense going early and kept it going the whole game winning 5-2. 
 
The Spartans knew it would be a tough game as the Bearcats were 14-1 on the year. McKendree showed why they were that good early as Anthony Grant scored in the second minute to make it 1-0. Missouri Baptist settled down on defense until in the 26th minute when Anthony Grant added his second of the day making it 2-0. 
 
Before halftime, the Spartans were able to climb back into the game when Danny Traylor scored in the 40th minute to make it 2-1. However, Mike Williams scored two minutes later to make it 3-1 Bearcats at halftime. McKendree outshot MBU in the first half 21-3.
 
The scoring continued early in the second half when just 46 seconds in Tom Ward made it 4-1 McKendree. Anthony Grant made it 5-1 on his third goal of the game in the 51st minute. MBU's goalie Nemanja Pandzic came in for Ethan Brunk after the fifth goal.  The team kept fighting as Oscar Rojas scored for the Spartans late in the 81st minute to make it a final 5-2.
 
The offense continued to struggle for the Spartans as they were outshot in the game 45-8. Oscar Rojas led the team in shots with four. 
 
The teams record moves to 1-12-1 on the year but will look to finish the season strong when they head to Benedictine University on October 27th at 7:00 p.m
