St. Louis, Mo. - After a big week in Missouri Baptist University athletics, women's soccer forward Courtney Young beat out a talented field to win Spartan Athlete of the Week honors on Tuesday.

Young, a freshman from Cedar Hill, Mo., had an outstanding week, leading her team to a victory against AMC foe Harris Stowe State University with a two-goal performance. In the game, Young scored just five minutes into the contest to put the team up for good. This goal stood up as the game winner and helped the team to its second-consecutive win.

The Visitation Academy graduate has shown signs of leadership and the talent to be a highly-valued asset in the coming years for the team
