Greenville, Ill. - Missouri Baptist University men's basketball put together another 90-point performance on Friday evening, beating Fontbonne University in the Greenville Classic, 93-81.
The Spartans had another fantastic offensive performance, and six players ended the game in double digits. Heading into halftime, Missouri Baptist held a 20-point lead. The Griffins, however, refused to quit. The Fontbonne squad came roaring back in the second frame, outscoring the Spartans by eight. In the end, the lead proved to be insurmountable for the NCAA Division III team.
MBU shot 50% from the floor for the game and current AMC Player of the Week, Sam Pearson, had another big performance, recording 19 points. Kyle Ford was also spectacular for Missouri Baptist. The senior recorded a double-double, with 14 points and 11 boards.
Missouri Baptist improves to 8-5 and now holds the best record in the AMC. The team will get right back to it tomorrow night at 5:00 p.m. when they take on classic host, Greenville College.
