The MBU men's volleyball team picked up its first win of the season last weekend, as they went 1-1 on Fridayand Saturday.
Missouri Batist defeated Milwaukee School of Engineering Friday 22-25, 25-17,25-21,22-25,15-9. The Spartans were paced by senior setter,
Jedson Barbosa, with 46 assists. Freshman
Clayton Baker served 6 service aces while sophomore
Danny Traylor had 18 kills.
The Spartans' record slipped to 1-2 on Saturday with a 13-25,25-22,24-26,25-17,11-15 loss to Cardinal Stritch in Milwaukee. The Spartans were paced by juniors
Dave Stewart and
Jonathan Roldan with 19 and 21 kills respectively.
"We are getting better and we are learning a lot about ourselves," said Coach Yehling.
After two weather related cancelations this week, the Spartans are scheduled to return to action Thursday, February 3, when they travel to Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.
