ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Missouri Baptist University men's basketball received 22 points and 22 boards from the bench on Thursday evening, as the went on to a 66-57 victory over Williams Baptist College in the quarterfinals of the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Tournament.

The Spartans began the game sluggish, not getting on the board until the 17-minute mark of the first half. The team, however, quickly recovered and began to charge back thanks in large part to the three-point shooting of Erik Hunter. The junior nailed three, three-balls in a row to give the Spartans a 12-9 advantage. 

Missouri Baptist only shot 34% in the half, but entered the break with a 29-24 lead. In the second half, the Spartans shooting woes continued while the Eagles took full advantage. WBC's Kyle Harvey slowly led his team back into the game. The Eagles took a three-point lead with about eight minutes left, thanks to Harvey's hot hand. He ended the game with a double-double, posting 19 points and 10 rebounds.

After going through a slow shooting stretch, Missouri Baptist came back strong. The team quickly took the lead and never looked back. Erik Hunter led the team with 16 points, while Matthew Holmes finished with 12 points and nine boards.

Perhaps one of the biggest performances for Missouri Baptist was Josh Ramsey. The sophomore from Belleville, Ill. played 14 minutes and provided a spark for the team. He finished the game with four points, six rebounds and one steal.

With the win, the Spartans will host Hannibal LaGrange on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in the AMC semifinal game. The winner will play for the conference title on Tuesday.
