MISSOURI BAPTIST VOLLEYBALL MOVES TO 17-0

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri Baptist women's volleyball made quick work of a hard working Stephens College team on Wednesday night, winning 3-0 and extending a school record undefeated season to 17-0.

The first set was surprising to say the least, as Stephens showed itself to be more than up to the task. After an early 6-11 deficit, the Spartans countered, rattling off several quick points to take a 17-14 lead. Though Stephens refused to shy away from making a play, Missouri Baptist never relinquished the lead in a 25-19 win.

The second set was a bit more frightening for the undefeated Missouri Baptist squad. Stephens again started out in front, taking as much as a six-point lead. The Spartans, however, put the pieces together at the right time, winning 25-21.

As the third set began, Missouri Baptist seemed to find a rhythm. The team found itself out-front for the first time in the match. Led by the dependable play of Molly DeClue, The Spartans worked hard to earn a third set win, though the Stars did not make it easy. MBU took set three 25-20 and the match 3-0.

With the victory, the Spartans moved back into the lead in the AMC standings. Missouri Baptist improved to 17-0 on the season with a 6-0 conference record. Conference foe Harris Stowe State University will visit MBU on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. first serve.
