ST. LOUIS- Sam Schulze earned her third shutout of the season as the Missouri Baptist women's soccer team defeated Freed-Hardeman, 1-0. The Spartans improve to 7-5-3 on the season and 5-1-2 in conference play.
Aregll London scored the game winning goal with 14 minutes left in the contest on a pass from Julie Webb for the lone goal of the game. Schulze had to make just two saves in the contest, with both coming in the first half.
Missouri Baptist took two shots on goal in the first half and five in the second half.
The Spartans outshot Freed-Hardeman 22-2 in the game and 7-2 in shots on goal.
In the second half, MBU had two shots on goal before finding the game winner. In the 76th minute, Webb played a ball to London, who drilled her sixth goal of the season and second game winner of the year. It was Webb's third assist of the 2013 campaign.
Missouri Baptist has a strong hold on third place in the AMC standings with a 5-1-2 record. Columbia College is in second place with a 6-1-0 conference record and Hannibal-LaGrange holds fourth place with a 3-1-3 AMC record.
The Spartans are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Avila in a non-conference game.
