ST. LOUIS- The Missouri Baptist women's soccer team defeated Stephen's College, 8-0. The Spartans improve to 6-1-2 in AMC play, which holds the third spot in the conference standings.
Liz Kahn made the start in net for MBU and earned her first win of the season.
Eight different Spartans scored in the game, which featured 63 shots and 30 shots on goal. MBU had 36 shots in the first half and 27 in the second half.
In the first half, Katie Nevels got the Spartans on the board in the ninth minute. It was Nevels' third goal of the season.
With 25:41 remaining in the first half, Lauren Clinton netted her third goal of the season to put the Spartans up 2-0.
Missouri Baptist scored again just a minute later, when Hannah McElroy scored her third goal of the year.
Brieanna Nickels netted the Spartans fourth goal of the half with 15:27 left in the half, her second goal of the season.
Kirsten Neal scored her third goal of the season that put the Spartans up 5-0 with one minute left in the half.
In the second half, Jamie Morales scored with 40:00 left in the game, which put MBU up 6-0.
Aregll London put the Spartans up 7-0 with 33:32 left in the game.
Melissa Patchin finished the Spartan scoring when she put Missouri Baptist up 8-0 with 24:47 left in the contest.
Missouri Baptist hosts William Woods on Saturday at 5:00 pm for Senior Night.
