ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist women's wrestling recorded four wins by pin on Friday evening in a 42-4 win at McKendree University.
Missouri Baptist continued a tremendous start to the 2013-14 campaign from the start of the dual. At 101lbs, Anissa Rodriguez defeated Tayler Resuriz of McKendree by fall to give the Spartans a 5-0 lead.
After an Isabella Silva win by forfeit, MBU's Bree Rapoza continued the solid wrestling for the visitors. Rapoza took down Anna Divins by technical fall 10-0 to give the Spartans a 14-0 lead heading into the 123lb class match.
Missouri Baptist put the pedal down in the next two matches. Motana Drum, Cheyenne Youngblood and Bernice Blanco all posted wins by pin over their opponents at 123, 130 and 13llbs respectively. Youngblood continued her undefeated streak to start the season with the win.
McKendree's lone victory on the night was at 143lbs as Olivia Seppinni defeated Forrest Molinari 8-3 and posted the Bearcats only four points on the night. Karissa Avalonne, Aylin Hernandez and Sharon Garcia also recorded wins for the Spartans on the night.
The Spartans will return home for its first single-opponent dual in the Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex of the season on Wednesday night. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
