KRANZ’S TWO SCORES LEAD SPARTANS PAST PANTHERS

ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist men's soccer continued its undefeated season on Saturday with a 5-2 win over NCAA Division III opponent, Greenville College.

Missouri Baptist (4-0-1) scored early and often in the first half. The Spartans scored four of their five goals in the first frame to set-up the win. Led by junior Joe Wonsewith (2 goals), MBU capitalized on several scoring opportunities to take a 4-1 lead into the second half.

After posting his first goal before the break, Kranz knocked-in another in the 55th minute off a header to give his team its fifth goal of the day. Kranz finished with two goals and one assist on offense.

After Greenville's second score of the day, Missouri Baptist Head Coach Jake Alvernia looked to Kranz to take over in the net. Kranz finished the final 22 minutes of the match as the Spartan netminder and held the Panthers scoreless.

MBU's undefeated season is the one of the longest in recorded history for the team. The Spartans will put it on the line again on Monday when the team will face Webster University in a road match at St. Louis Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
