MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO AMC FOE COLUMBIA COLLEGE, 4-1

ST. LOUIS – A four-goal second half by Columbia College proved to be too much for the Missouri Baptist men's soccer squad, as the Spartans fell 4-1. It is the first AMC loss for MBU, as they drop to 3-1 on the season.

The Spartans and Cougars took a 0-0 score into halftime, but there was plenty of action. Spartan goalkeeper Corbin Rodriguez stopped five Columbia shots, while MBU fired three shots of their own.

Cougar forward Rafael Ramos took over the game in the second half. He blasted three goals in a span of 15 minutes to quickly give the Cougars a 3-0 lead.

Joe Wonsewith, who came into the contest with an eight game goal streak, drew a lot of attention when he moved in on the attack in the 65th minute. He found Alen Palislamovic wide open, and he lined a goal from 25 yards out and cut the deficit to two goals.

Ramos unfortunately was not done with his day, as he blasted a goal just a minute later to put the game away. It was Ramos' fourth goal of the game.

Missouri Baptist fell to 6-2-1 on the season and 3-1 in AMC play.

The Spartans will look to bounce back in AMC play when they travel to Park on Saturday at 2 pm. It will be a part of a four game road trip.
