ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist women's soccer ended it's winning streak at four games on Monday in a 3-0 loss to St. Ambrose on the road.
MBU (9-5-3, 9-1-1 AMC) was outshot in the first half 11-5 as the Fighting Bees took an early lead. Saint Ambrose found its first opportunity to take the lead as Tori Novak found her way to the back of the Spartan net two minutes into the game. Missouri Baptist dug deep on defense and prevented the Bees from scoring again in the first half.
Only down by one, the Spartans pushed to even the score. MBU evened the offensive effort to St. Ambrose as the visitors recorded six shots to the Bees' seven in the final 45 minutes.
Through the Spartan's search for the equalizing goal, Saint Ambrose Jessica Mlachnik struck again for the Bees. MBU continued to try to make up the difference, but to no avail as the Bees Jordan Eisenberg notched a third point with five minutes left in the game.
The Spartans will face the Ashford University Saints in non-conference play to close out the regular season. Missouri Baptist will travel to Clinton, Iowa, on Wednesday, October 29, 2014.
