ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist University saw their first American Midwest Conference (AMC) win against Harris-Stowe State University. Through a back and forth battle the Spartans broke the game open with two goals in the second half to seal the 2-0 win.
The game went back and forth throughout the first half, each team taking their shots but to no avail. As the teams broke for half time, the score was a draw at 0-0.
MBU (1-9-2, 1-4) came back from the half with a new fire, outshooting Harris Stowe 12-2. Jamie Skillen put the first tally on the board to put the Spartans in the lead. In the 83rd minute Alen Palislamovic scored his second goal of the season and put MBU up 2-0.
John Schnurbush held Harris Stowe to no goals through 90 minutes. Schurbusch recorded three saves on the game to secure the victory.
MBU will travel to face AMC opponent Columbia College. The game is set to start at 3:30 pm in Columbia, Missouri.
