ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Baptist women's wrestling team battled Missouri Valley College on Wednesday night. The Spartans wrestled well, but had to settle for a 24-24 draw.

The dual began with two forfeits. MBU earned a forfeit in the 101 weight class, and Missouri Valley earned a forfeit in the 109 weight class. Missouri Valley followed that up with consecutive wins in the 116 and 123 weight classes to take a 13-6 lead. Erica Mihalca won by pin in the 130 weight class to cut the Missouri Valley lead to 13-11. Missouri Valley picked up more points in the 136 eight class to extend their lead to 17-11

The Spartans fought back to take the lead beginning in the 143 weight class. Cheyenne Youngblood won by pin in the 143 weight class to make the score 17-16. Lindsay Villarmia won by decision in the 155 weight class, and Aylin Hernandez won by decision in the 170 weight class to give the Spartans a 24-19 lead. In the 191 weight class, Missouri Valley won by forfeit to make the final score 24-24.

The Spartans will be back on the mats on December 6th to wrestle in the Campbellsville and Life Duals.
