ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] The Missouri Baptist women's soccer team earned its sixth shutout on the year as Donna Jolliff posted her second career hat trick on the way to a 4-0 win in the American Midwest Conference Quarterfinals.
Missouri Bapitst (10-5-1, 9-1-1 AMC) got things going early as Argell London began the scoring with a goal in the 30th minute to put the Spartans on top 1-0. This goal held-up and became the game winner in the end as Kathryn Kessler posted the shutout.
The biggest performance on the day, however, was that of forward Donna Jolliff. The junior continued the hot streak as she scored two goals of her own to end the first half. MBU led 3-0 after the first 45 minutes of play.
As Missouri Baptist continued to hold the Trojans in the second half, Argell London fed Donna Jolliff for a third goal to extend the lead to four.
Kathryn Kessler was in the net for the Spartans and held the Trojans scoreless. Kessler posted five saves in the shutout performance.
As the Spartans came out on top in the AMC Quarterfinal match, MBU will advance into the AMC Semifinal round. The game will be played at Scott Gallagher Soccer Park on Field One and the Spartans will take on AMC No. 3 Park University at noon. Coverage will begin at 11:45 p.m. on the Spartan Digital Network.
