WILLIAMS BAPTIST DOMINATES MEN'S BASKETBALL, 79-55

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – [Box Score] The Missouri Baptist men's basketball team dropped its third consecutive American Midwest Conference game after falling to Williams Baptist College, 79-55. The Spartans fell to 1-8 on the season and 0-3 in AMC play.

Missouri Baptist shot .333 from the floor in the game, hitting on 19-of-57 shots from the field. The Spartans made 5-of-21 from 3-point territory and sank 12-of-20 free throw attempts. The Eagles made 27-of-58 shots from the floor, a .466 success rate. Williams Baptist made 7-of-17 from deep range and 18-of-23 from the charity stripe. Williams Baptist won the rebounding battle, 43-31.

Senior Adrian Kuyinu led MBU with 14 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field. He drained 6-of-7 free throw shots and led the Spartans with three assists.

Junior Stephen Buckner II scored 12 points in the game. He made 4-of-10 shots from the field and hit 4-of-7 from three-point territory.

Junior Bryce Weibrecht led Missouri Baptist with seven rebounds, while also adding seven points.

Things did not start off well for the Spartans. Williams Baptist led 4-2 and never trailed in the contest. The largest lead of the half for the Eagles came as the buzzer sounded, when WBC drained a 3-ball to end the half on top, 43-15.

The Spartans could never get into a groove over the first 20 minutes, shooting just 28 percent from the floor. Weibrecht scored six of his seven points in the contest over the first 20 minutes of play.

Williams Baptist could not be slowed down, as they shot nearly 50 percent in the half.

The deficit swelled to 38 points with 9:38 left in the game when Williams Baptist led 69-31.

Missouri Baptist outscored the Eagles 24-10 over the final 9:00 of the game, but could never get within striking distance.

The Spartans will continue the road swing by traveling to Lyon College tomorrow night. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm.
