ST. LOUIS – [AMC TOURNEMENT BRACKET] Missouri Baptist men's basketball will play William Woods on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the opening round of the AMC Basketball Tournament.
Missouri Baptist (7-23, 6-14 AMC) dropped its final two games of the regular season and earned the No. 9-seed in the tournament. The Spartans are 0-2 against the Owls in 2013-14 and will look to turn that record around when the team travels to Fulton, Mo., for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
Missouri Baptist is led by Kalvin Lewis (15.6 points per game) and Chris Buzzell (14.6 points per game) this season. In the team's last two games against the Owls, the duo has scored a combined 63 points, including a career-high 31 point performance by Lewis on Jan. 11.
William Woods (8-22, 6-14 AMC) has won twice in its final five games, including a 75-64 win over the Spartans on Feb. 15. The Owls are led by Jon Nutt (14.6 points per game) and Blake Burgess (14.1 points per game). Nutt torched the Spartans for 18 points on Feb. 15.
The winner of Tuesday evening's game will head to Columbia College on Thursday evening to face the No. 4-ranked Cougars.
