GAME PREVIEW: MBU FOOTBALL @ OKLAHOMA BAPTIST

THE GAME: Missouri Baptist University will play its third football game in the inaugural 2014 season on Saturday, September 13, 2014 against Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla. This will be the third game of the season for both the Bison and the Spartans. Brad Cygan, the road voice of Missouri Baptist Football will be on the call for MBU. John Parrish and Norris Russell will be on the radio call for the Bison while Jonathan Polasek will handle the play-by-play duties for video.  

MAKING HISTORY: Missouri Baptist Football made history on Aug. 28, 2014 at NCAA Division I FCS opponent Southeast Missouri State in the team's first game in team history. MBU dropped that game 77-0 in Cape Girardeau in front of a crowd of over 7,000. Tonight's game will be the third game in the career of head coach Jason Burianek. MBU is still looking to post its first win of the season after recording its first points in team history last week. Missouri Baptist, as a whole, is celebrating its 50-year anniversary in 2014.

OKLAHOMA BAPTIST: The Bison have begun the season 2-0 behind a high-powered offensive attack. Last week against University of St. Mary, the team recorded just under 600 yards of total offense and boased two, 100-yard rushing running backs in Jordan Barnes (115 yds) and Dawson Myers (109 yds).

So far this season, OBU has posted an impressive 109 points in two games, averaging over 50 points per game. The team is also in the top 10 in the NAIA in eight offensive categories.

FOR THE RECORD: OBU leads the NAIA in first downs per game with 45. The next closest team that has played two games is Southern Oregon, who is averaging 31.5/game. 

Missouri Baptist recorded its first 100+ yard rushing game against No. 6 University of Saint Francis (Ind.). As a team, MBU rushed for 186 yards, including 117 for JP Lowery, his first 100-yard performance of his career.
