SPARTANS SPLIT IN DOUBLE OVER TIME

ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist women's soccer tied Central Methodist in double overtime on Saturday in a hard-fought contest at home. The Spartans pushed the undefeated Eagles to a 1-1 draw in a non-conference showdown.

Missouri Baptist (3-3-2, 3-0) needed 65 minutes to post the first goal of the match.

Twenty minutes into the second half Lauren Guerrero put the first point on the board and gave the Spartans the lead.  Just 10 minutes later, the Eagles responded, however. CMU's Fernanda Ramirez answered back bringing the score to 1-1.

Neither team was able to find net again as regulation time came to a close, sending the teams into overtime.  With no change in score throughout overtime, the game progressed to double overtime.  Double overtime concluded in the same manner as CMU survived the contest undefeated.

Kathryn Kessler held the Eagles to one goal with five saves on the game.

The Spartans will get back to conference play as the team will travel to William Woods on Tuesday, Sept. 30 to play the Owls. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Fulton, Mo.
