THE GAME: Missouri Baptist University will play its seventh game of the 2015 season and its second MSFA Crossover game against Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) on Oct. 17, 2015 in St. Louis, Mo. The game will be the final of a three-game home stand for the Spartans.
SEARCHING FOR A SPARK: The Missouri Baptist offense found some success on Saturday against Lindenwood-Belleville, but was unable to provide consistent pressure on the Lynx defense. MBU mustered 201 yards of total offense, all led by quarterback Jacob Hunt. The freshman led the team in rushing with 59 yards and a touchdown and in passing with 81 yards in the air.
Turnovers, once again, were at the forefront of the game as MBU gave the ball away five times, three interceptions and two fumble turnovers.
SCOUTING OLIVET NAZARENE: The Tigers have had some rough patches this season, and lost four in a row until grabbing a win last week over MSFA Midwest Division rival Trinity International last week.
Matthew Wray leads the passing attack, but has averaged just over 63 yards in the air per game. Look for David Payne to see some action at running back in this game. The senior leads the team with 201 yards on the ground this season.
Rashaan Gaymon leads the receiver corps and has 257 yards with three touchdowns this season.
FOR THE RECORD: Jacob Hunt grabbed his first rushing touchdown of his career on Saturday against Lindenwood-Belleville. The freshman got to the edge and busted a 51-yard touchdown run in the third quarter... Marshall Willingham recorded his first touchdown as a Spartan on Saturday against Lindenwood...
