SPARTANS TRIUMPH OVER TROJANS

ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] The Missouri Baptist men's volleyball team played their final regular season conference game with a 3-0 sweep of the Hannibal-LaGrange Trojans on Thursday.

The Spartans played a strong first set. Missouri Baptist led the Trojans for the entirety to finish with a 25-14 set one win.

MBU started out strong in the second set, but the Trojans made their move and took the lead for the first time in the game. Although Hannibal-LaGrange played Missouri Baptist close they were not able to finish the set as the Spartans closed the set 25-22.

Hannibal LaGrange continued to try to take a set from MBU, but Missouri Baptist would have none of that. The Spartans continued to maintain control through the third set to close out the game in a sweep of the Trojans.

Mico Janicijevic led the Spartans with 11 kills and a 0.500 hitting percentage. Chris Flood also had a hitting percentage of 0.500 and posted seven kills on 12 total attempts with only one error. Middle blocker Kevin Knight recorded a perfect game at the net with six kills on six total attempts and no errors. Shane Welch also put up an impressive hitting percentage of 0.625 off of six kills, eight total attempts, with only one error.

Missouri Baptist will now prepare for the conference tournament at Park University on April 10th and 11th.
