GAME PREVIEW: MBU VS. MARIAN (IND.)

THE GAME: Missouri Baptist University will play its fourth game of the 2015 season and its second MSFA Mideast Division game against Marian (Ind.) on Sept. 26, 2015 in Marian, Ind. The game will be the final of a three-game road swing for the Spartans.

GROWING PAINS: After a huge comeback and near upset of Siena Heights (Mich.) the week before, MBU stumbled out of the gate against St. Francis (Ill.) and dropped its third game of the season 45-7. MBU is allowing 45 points per game on average in 2015 and will have a tough test in Marian this week. Kalen Petty posted his second consecutive week with a receiving touchdown while Tyler Hach was named the Mid-States Football Association Mideast Division Special Teams Player of the Week for his outstanding play.

SCOUTING MARIAN: The Knights enter this game 2-1, after having sustained its first loss last week, at the hands of No. 11-ranked Robert Morris (Ill.). It was a surprising loss for the No. 1 team in the nation, and one which dropped them in the National Poll to No. 8.

Quarterback Hayden Northern makes the offense run and has done it this season to the tune of five touchdown passes with 552 total yards passing.

Also of note are returning All-Americans, senior Zach Mitchell (OL) and junior Eric Price (DB). Price is a key piece to a stout defensive group and has one interception on the season.

FOR THE RECORD: Kalen Petty recorded his second consecutive game with a receiving touchdown... Sophomore Billy Ritchie will get the start this season at quarterback for the first time in his MBU career... Tyler Hach recorded two 50+ yard punts a week ago against St. Francis, leading him to become the first Spartan to garner MSFA Player of the Week honors in team history
