Box Score ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] All 13 Spartans scored in Missouri Baptist's 100-46 rout of St. Louis College of Pharmacy Thursday night, a game the Spartans never trailed.
Back-to-back 3-pointers from Stephen Buckner and Will Harrington gave the Spartans (10-6, 5-3) an early 6-0 lead and ignited a hot-shooting night for the home team. Missouri Baptist shot 66.7 percent from the field, including 50 percent from 3-point range.
The Eutectics (0-11, 0-8) kept the deficit below double-digits until the 12:44 mark of the first half. Strong defense and hot-shooting then helped the Spartans run away with the game. Missouri Baptist held St. Louis College of Pharmacy to 25 percent shooting from the field and only six field goals in the second half.
Michael Asleson and David Gabrovsek scored a team-high 14 points in the blowout win. Asleson hit four 3-pointers in 10 minutes of action and also added two rebounds and an assist. Luke Call, Isaiah Cotton and Jared White joined the duo in double-figures.
Call went 4-for-4 from 3-point range to knock in all of his 12 points. White has now scored 10+ points in three of his four games this season and Cotton reached double-figures for the first time since suffering an ankle injury earlier in the season.
The Spartans hit 11-of-22 3-pointers on the night and assisted on 23 of their 38 buckets. Jake Terry dished out a team-high six assists in 11 minutes of action followed by five dimes from Buckner.
Kyle Jones paced the Eutectics with 12 points on 4-of-18 shooting. They struggled to get in an offensive flow against the Spartans and went over a 10-minute stretch in the second half without a field goal.
A busy week continues for Missouri Baptist on Saturday. They'll go for their third straight win against Harris-Stowe on the road. Tip is set for 4:00 pm.
