GAME PREVIEW: MBU VS. LYON (ARK.)

Missouri Baptist (2-8) vs. Lyon College (3-7)

THE GAME: Missouri Baptist University will play the 11th and final game of its 2016  schedule on Saturday, November 12 at 1:00pm when they face the Lyon College (Ark.) Scots in St. Louis, Mo.

GETTING BACK ON TRACK: Missouri Baptist responded to a quick touchdown by Concordia (Mich.) on Saturday with a long bomb from Gunnar Griffin to Isaiah King, but the offense stalled as the Cardinal rushing attack gathered steam. Missouri Baptist will need a solid run defense on Saturday to keep the Scots at bay!

SENIOR DAY: Missouri Baptist will say goodbye to seven current seniors today in addition to two members of the program since the beginning. Eddie Calderon, Toreyon Times, Fred Kelley, Dalton Barcom, Shawn Geary, Karsten Beney and Sebastian Marton will all walk onto the field for the final time as Spartans on Saturday while Alexis Nunley and Cole Lema, both of which have ended their playing careers, will be honored as well.

SCOUTING LYON: The Scots have quietly put together their strongest season in their two seasons of existence in 2016. After dropping three straight, the team won three of its next four games, including a thrilling 48-42 win in overtime against SAGU (Southwestern Assemblies of God).

The Scots rely on their tough ground game to win football games and Michael Bowles has been a snootfull for run defenses to contain. The 5-8 running back leads the Central States Football League with 1257 yards on the year and will be the go-to player for Lyon in today's contest.

FOR THE RECORD: MBU is looking for three wins for the first time in team history... Maleek Ross set a new single-game and career sack record after his 4.5 sack performance three weeks  ago against Olivet Nazarene (Ill.)... The defense also set new team sack and TFL records... Isaiah King set a new All-Time MBU receiving record at MBU in two categories against St. Francis (Ind.) with an 88-yard touchdown reception and a 176-yard receiving day, both new records... Isaiah King has eight games with over 50 yds receiving and three with over 100
