ST. LOUIS—[BOX SCORE] Women's Volleyball closed out their trip to Columbia with a matchup against Evangel University. They took the match in four sets, ending the tournament with a 2-1 record.
The Spartans flew through the first two sets with ease (25-19, 25-12). However, the third set rolled around and Evangel was able to feed off of Missouri Baptist's sudden loss of momentum, as they defeated the Spartans, taking the match to a fourth set (18-25).
MBU got their groove back, and with full force, as they dominated the fourth set. The squad quickly took the set (25-9) and concluded the match.
Marion Couraud led the match by a landslide with 24 total kills. Tina Medanovic and Ana Oliveirafinished with 12 and 10 kills, respectively.
Couraud and Oliveira also contributed multiple service aces for the Spartans with 4 and 6, respectively.
Missouri Baptist will be back in action on Tuesday, October 17. The Harris-Stowe State Hornets will head to the SRC for a matchup against your Spartans at 7 pm.
