ST. LOUIS—[BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Women's Soccer routed Williams Baptist 5-0 on Saturday afternoon in Walnut Ridge, Ark. Haylee Eastridge netted a first half hat trick and added two more after the break as the Spartans ran away with it.
Eastridge opened the scoring in the 22
nd minute when she accepted a pass from
Danielle Wilde and fired into the lower right corner of the net. She added a second goal four minutes later and then completed the hat trick in the 30
th minute.
Allie Heinz provided the assist on the second goal while
Cassie Willhite posted the helper on the third.
Eastridge then picked up where she left off in the second half. Just one minute after the break, the Hillsboro, Mo. native took a cross from Jackie Hagan and calmly slotted home for her fourth of the day. She finally capped it all off with a fifth goal, her 13th of the season, in the 57th minute. The historic day moved Eastridge into the top five in Division I NAIA in total goals.
The Spartans improve to 5-3-1 with the victory and 3-1 in the AMC. Their next test will be Tuesday at home to Stephens College and there will be a multiple MBU school records on watch. After a two save effort on Saturday, goalkeeper Alex Lair is just five saves shy of tying the MBU career record (246). Haylee Eastridge will also have an opportunity to break the MBU single season goal record of 15 set by Donna Joliff in 2014.
