ST. LOUIS—[BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Men's Soccer dropped a 5-0 decision to Martin Methodist (Tenn.) on Monday afternoon. The Redhawks used three first half goals in a 10 minute span to break it open early.
The opening goal came in the 15th minute after a questionable foul call in the MBU box. Senior Jack Mccarren converted from the penalty spot and the Redhawks were off and running. They added two goals 30 second apart followed by another marker in the 38th minute.
The Spartan defense buckled down in the second half but a goal from a long MMU free kick sealed the deal in the 76th minute. MBU matched their counterparts in shots and goal scoring opportunities in the final 45 minutes but were unable to convert.
The defeat drops Missouri Baptist to 1-3. Martin Methodist improves to 4-0. The Spartans will next face the University of St. Francis on Thursday in Fort Wayne, Ind. Kickoff is set for 1 pm.
