SPARTANS OVERWHELMED BY RAVENS

ST. LOUIS—The Spartans made their way to Kansas to take on the Ravens of Benedictine College. It was another tough contest for MBU, as they fell 18-7.

The first half was a tough one for Missouri Baptist. As they dished out several fouls, Benedictine followed suit dishing out several goals. The Ravens scored three before MBU got on the board, with a goal from McKenna Fisher. The teams traded a couple of goals back and forth, but the Ravens eventually pulled away. The Spartans faced a six-point deficit at the half.

Benedictine started off the scoring in the second half, but MBU's Grace Adams quickly responded with one for the Spartans. Unfortunately, the Ravens put up four more goals before Laura Ebers scored a free position shot (15-6).

The Spartans continued to play tough defense, but it wasn't enough to hold off the Ravens as they scored three more, taking a 12 point lead. Katie Pilla put one more in the net before the Spartans fell, 18-7.

Ashley Avery led the Spartans in ground balls with four total. Pilla had six shots and two goals, while Ebers had four shots and one goal. They also tied for the lead in the draw control category with three total.

The Women's Lacrosse team is in action at Lindenwood- Belleville on March 2 and 3. They'll take on (3) Indiana Tech on Friday, and the (7) University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) on Saturday.
